Applications

Typical industrial uses

Industrial ovens

Tubular elements can be formed and arranged in ovens and chambers to heat circulating air, surfaces or process loads under temperature control.

Air ducts

Used in duct-heating assemblies where element loading, airflow and mounting are selected to avoid local overheating and achieve the required air temperature.

Water and oil tanks

Immersion constructions transfer heat directly into compatible liquids. The heated section must remain properly immersed during operation.

Chemical process equipment

Custom elements can be considered for process vessels after confirming the liquid, operating temperature, sheath compatibility, mounting and required watt density.

Technical Buying Guide

Selecting a tubular or immersion heater

The correct heater depends on more than total wattage. Share the medium being heated, tank or duct dimensions, starting and target temperature, heat-up time, available voltage and whether the process operates continuously or in batches.

For immersion service, sheath material and watt density must be compatible with the liquid. The active heated section should never be energized dry unless the heater is specifically designed for that condition.

For replacement elements, provide overall length, heated length, element diameter, bend shape, mounting thread or flange details, terminal enclosure and photographs. A dimensional sketch is especially useful for formed tubular heaters.
