Typical industrial uses

Moulds and dies

Inserted into accurately sized drilled holes to heat moulds, dies and tooling. Close heater-to-hole contact is important for efficient heat transfer and heater life.

Packaging jaws

Used in sealing and packaging jaws where compact heaters must deliver repeatable heat within limited space and respond quickly to controller input.

Hot plates

Installed in machined plates and blocks to distribute heat through the metal mass for process heating, sealing, bonding or test equipment.

Plastic machinery

Used in nozzles, manifolds, dies and auxiliary components where a small cylindrical heater can be installed directly inside a drilled bore.

Technical Buying Guide

Cartridge heater fit, wattage and lead selection

A cartridge heater performs best when the drilled hole is straight, clean and closely matched to the heater diameter. An oversized or damaged bore creates an air gap, reducing heat transfer and forcing the internal element to operate hotter than necessary.

For replacement heaters, provide the exact diameter and heated length, voltage, wattage, lead type and lead length. If the heater has a right-angle exit, flange, threaded fitting or special cold zone, include a photograph or drawing so the connection can be reproduced correctly.

For new applications, share the material being heated, target operating temperature, available hole size, quantity of heaters in the tool and expected heat-up time. This information is more useful than selecting wattage only from the cartridge dimensions.
